Braselton Community Information

Braselton is a small town lying partly in Barrow, Gwinnett, Hall, and Jackson counties in Georgia.

Braselton got its start as a farm belonging to William Harrison Braselton, becoming an agricultural and commercial center for the area by 1876. In 1887, William's son John started a general store, which eventually grew into the town's centerpiece, occupying over 70,000 square feet at its biggest. Many of the store's original buildings still exist in Braselton today.

Today, the town and surrounding area is home to many major employers, including distribution centers for Petco, Whole Foods, Hitachi, and Amazon. Other local business of note are the Chateau Elan Winery & Resort, offering golf, a winery, spa, and residences; and the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Braselton Farmers Market - Held every week during the summer and once a month for the rest of the year.

The town of Braselton lies just off the Interstate Highway 85, approximately 45 minutes northeast of Atlanta. Athens, Georgia, is only 30 minutes southeast of Braselton, and home to the University of Georgia.

Other sites of interest in the area are Lake Lanier to the northeast, and the Chattahoochee National Forest, which is only a 50 minute drive north.

Braselton itself is centered around the intersection of Green and Davis Street. Surrounding these streets are many unique eateries, a library, antique stores, the town green, and the town hall a little further south.
